Sell Out?

If one lives to love to create a work of art or song of beauty... beyond compare, does that one necessarily have to sell-out, compromise and whore out some muted vague resemblances of a once grand and living love? In this country, it's almost taken for granted, that is the road to travel the one trodden by dollars, compromised efforts flung from the dungeon of dollarfied desires... and creation lives to be sold by a soul who dreamed of dollars for our country tis of thee and maybe your country tis of thee said dollars rule the earth and some believe so and some create as though... Yes it is one whack-out belief system we live within where compromise to the status-quo of current marketability is the Grand motto pomped and paraded... but someday, you who create, may take the time to notice, there are universes of beauty awaiting and you won't get there dreaming of dollars but you will by the desire, the belief and the beauty grown from within the sharing heart of the kind-soul.... so I've never sold my art my drawings... once upon a time I was a Commercial Illustrator, Porsche, Nissan, Yamaha, Bank of America, Royal Cruise Line, Manwiches, agents, computers, chicken, beer and whatever came along... I've had my dose of that direction and in that direction the art was dictated by others by budgets, clocks, and clients and so I never considered it art... not at least my art... But at this point... I am willing and interested in commissions... of my fine art... [commissions range from $5,000 to $a lot] for I have been an unknown for too long in a country seemingly forever assuming the "masters" are all dead and there's nothin' new under the sun and gimme a cheeseburger and fries is all many brains ponder and all the history books are true and theories too if said so by college fed heads and many forums in this country exist for the freedom of expression unchained to dollarific Politics, heck, that's a nice thought but where are all those forums, where is that heartfelt intrinsic interest for those forums existant in this country all spangly and free????? ...So I'll create my own work and more of others as the Gallery Grows and as for here and now... I'll accept commissions... but I refuse to compromise to the lowest common denominator... someone's Mighty Theory of Marketable Affordability... and I'll create in tune with the highest common denominator that lives within us all... the sentient soul which desires to share a creation born from a simple desire of expression... So I'll draw as I've always drawn, only this time occassionally for big heapin' dollars and when I've left this Earth, I do hope some will see I did cherish this place and I hope always the works I've left behind reflect this cherishment right down to the last detail for you to behold... and consider... Good Night and Sweet Dreams.

The continuance of integrity in works created in preference to selling out...maybe this is evidence many artists would rather maintain a level of ability and a love of creation in preference to compromising all creative energies downward to dollars waiting...I don't know...I just know there's a lot of art waiting to be seen and a hell of a lot more wondrous works waiting to be made. And just remember...somewhere lies a land where cherished are the hearts, emotions, and desires of one another, where the beauty of expression is dreamt by every dreamer, flows from every hand, is beheld by every eye...where the mystery of it all is the beauty of what could be...
